The steel company has acquired the Catalan company specialized in waste management and recovery, thus reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and circular economy
Sidenor has announced the purchase of the Catalan company Eplus, located in Artés (Barcelona) and specialized in industrial waste management and recovery. This operation is part of the steel company’s strategy to boost sustainable growth and consolidate its position as an industrial reference, strengthening its commitment to circular economy and the reuse of materials to the benefit of sustainability.
According to Sara Jainaga, Sustainability Manager at Sidenor, “the integration of Eplus reaffirms our commitment to sustainability and the industry as drivers of economic development and social well-being“.
The acquired company y processes on its 2,000-sqm facilities materials such as ferrous and non-ferrous waste, paper, carton and plastics, turning them into reusable resources for sectors such as steelmaking and metallurgy.
This operation follows other strategic purchases performed by Sidenor in the area of industrial waste management, such as Aguilar Metal Recycling-AMR in 2022 and Miguel Martín in 2024. In addition, the company has diversified its activity towards renewable energies with the purchase of 8 photovoltaic parks in Catalonia in 2023.
